Before we know it fall will be upon us. Of course, that's a bit difficult to conceive when the temperature gauge outside my kitchen window hit 90 degrees at noon on August 28th in southwestern Pennsylvania! But retail stores are reminding us through their displays of pumpkin wares and Halloween decor that we should be buying candy corn and thinking about unwrapping our boxes of autumn accessories to begin refreshing our homes for the upcoming season.
To get us started for the fall months, I decided to change the look of the website. I hope you enjoy the change up and especially the intro for the month of September and to introduce my readers to a very special lady.
Since my Mom has been a resident of Liberty Ridge Nursing Facility in Lynchburg, Virginia, my husband, Gary, and I have met lovely residents that have warmed our hearts and filled our lives with love and gratitude for the blessings God has given to us. One such resident is Debbie Johnson. I met Debbie three years ago when Mom was moved into the nursing home side of this facility. Debbie is only about 7 months older than me and she is an amazing lady embedded with wisdom and knowledge of the Bible...and that doesn't scratch the surface!
I asked Debbie if she would write her testimony so that I might share it with my readers and she agreed. I also have placed a picture of Debbie alongside her writing so that you might be reminded of her and remember to pray for her and the ministry she continues at Liberty Ridge. Debbie is currently working on a Greek project that blows my mind when I think of all the knowledge God has given to her and the continuous way she is writing to share that wisdom with others. Debbie is living proof that God continues to use His children regardless of where we are and what physical limitations we experience. Trust and obey....our Lord is calling each of us to be available. Thank you, Debbie, for obeying the call.
