Many times as I read through the Bible, I come upon a prayer I have probably read many times before, but due to the fact God's Word is living and breathing, it applies differently to my life at various crossroads. This morning was one such time. I would like to share with you this prayer taken from I Chronicles, Chapter 29. This prayer was lifted to the Lord when King David was handing over the reigns of his throne to his son, Solomon, and announcing that Solomon would be the one to build the temple for the Lord's dwelling.
Although he was a King, David always acknowledge the true King of Kings and Lord of Lords. May this prayer lift your day as it has mine!
“Praise be to you, Lord,
the God of our father Israel,
from everlasting to everlasting.
Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power
and the glory and the majesty and the splendor,
for everything in heaven and earth is yours.
Yours, Lord, is the kingdom;
you are exalted as head over all.
Wealth and honor come from you;
you are the ruler of all things.
In your hands are strength and power
to exalt and give strength to all.
Now, our God, we give you thanks,
and praise your glorious name.
