As this month draws to a close, I am extremely thankful that we live with freedom of religion. This morning as I stood in our worship service, the music was so uplifting and our pastor gave an equally energizing sermon. I realized this is one of my most prized blessings....the ability to gather with brothers and sisters in Christ and celebrate the love and sacrifice Jesus Christ made on our behalf.
The picture above showcases three important ways I am thankful for freedom to worship our Lord. First, the illumination pouring through the lovely church windows reminds me of the Light of the World; secondly, the shadows of the grave stones helps me to look forward to the time when this physical body will be laid to rest and my soul will be united to my Savior and all my loved ones who have gone before me and last, the focal point....the Cross of Calvary. This cross is the reason I can look forward to spending eternity in a place prepared especially for me as a believer.
I do not take this freedom lightly especially since there are those believers who are being killed for professing the name of Jesus Christ. I am blessed. I am thankful. Thank you, Lord.
