Our thirty days of being thankful during the month of November

Do you want to build a barn?

Okay, so the title is a little childish since the Disney's Frozen movie has a song entitled, "Do you want to build a snowman?"  I should know since my husband sings it to our granddaughter whenever it comes to mind!  But honestly, I've wanted a barn for a long time.  Why, you may ask?  Because it would be a great place to entertain, have an office with tons of room for all my projects (that I would leave open if I had enough work space) and on I could go!  As I have written on my Welcome link, barns have always held a fascination.  I can't tell you why, but it seems that I would dearly love to return just one day into the life of a farmer's daughter!  My mother, who was raised on a tobacco farm in Virginia, once reminded me it would only take one day and I'd be done!
But more than just having space, wouldn't it be wonderful to have a place where individuals could come and wind down from the fast paced speed of today's world?  A place where you could talk with another person, maybe share your faith or simply be a listening ear for someone who desperately needs to empty themselves from the trials of life?  We need more venues of connection;  simple, inviting, unplugged places where you can actually hear the birds, watch nature, read a book, or possibly close your eyes for a few minutes.  Ahhh.....
Yes, I want to build a barn.....anyone interested in helping?

Lord Jesus, help us to build places of solace regardless if it's in the shape of a barn or our own screened-in porches.  May we look outside ourselves to be a bridge of hope.  In Your Name, Amen..

A wise quote...

In the early 1970's Ruth Graham shared a quote on the subject of prayer.  It is noted that her husband, Billy, repeated this thought in some of the sermons he preached and in his writings.  It is so worth sharing I wanted to place it on my website.  God bless, my friends, and may we all understand how important it is to pray to our Heavenly Father, who does hear us when we call on Him.  Our requests, our problems, our joys and our sorrows do not fall on deaf ears!

"A mystery and wonder of prayer is that God often waits until someone asks.
I once heard it said that Heaven's storeroom is full of answers for which no one bothered to ask."
