Why entitle this ministry "The Sounding Board Teaching Ministries?" What is a sounding board?
"A structure (something made up of a number of parts that are held together in a particular way) placed behind or over a podium to reflect...a speaker's voice to an audience."
God has laid on my heart the desire to become a sounding board for His use. I am God's structure, made up of a number of life's experiences and uniquely molded together by my Heavenly Father. I am being led to share and reflect the words of my Lord to an audience of His choosing. Being reminded of the story told in John 4, Jesus encountered a Samaritan woman at a place called Jacob's well in a town called Sychar. As he rested from his travels and this woman approached, Jesus inquired of her a drink of water. It was during this exchange the woman came to know the Messiah and found eternal life. Jesus broke the bonds of slavery for this child of God and breathed new life into her spiritual soul. He gave her water from the well that will never run dry.
Regardless of your background, your current lifestyle or your present feeling of worth, God loves you dearly and gave his only son, Jesus Christ, to die in your place on the cross of Calvary. Life experiences enrich us, molding us by the Potter's Hand to become vessels for God's use in winning souls for the harvest. Allow me to share my story with you "for where two are gathered together in my name, there I am in the midst of them." Matthew 18:20 (NIV)
The Bucket List Bible Study
This Bible study is the brainchild of a dear friend and sister-in-Christ, Jan Mackowiak, whose longing to delve into the pages of God's Word to learn more about the Lord brought about this internet, interactive Bible Study. This will not be a sprint through the pages of God's Word, but a trip that includes reflection and meditation of the written word. Time will be taken to pull aside and breathe in the spectacular views and digest the nuggests of knowledge offered through scripture.
The New Century Version will be the primary translation referred to; however, other translations will be used in reference as the study unfolds. Two reasons, noted in the preface of the NCV, led us to use this version. First, the translation is faithful to the original language manuscripts and secondly, there is clarity of language and understanding.
Please feel free to use your current translation. Often you will be able to enhance our weekly "discussions" based on insights resulting from a different interpretation. Each week click onto the Bucket List Bible Study and a reading assignment will appear. This request will vary depending on the content of the scriptures and the information to be covered. Possible suggestions of notes or highlights to consider will be mentioned. It would be advantageous to have a notebook where your comments and assignments can be written for reflection,. Always include insights the Holy Spirit reveals to you whether you share them with the group or keep them for your own personal spiritual development.
I will then comment before the next reading is posted on points the Holy Spirits lays on my heart. I pray this teaching will strengthen us to become the individuals God created us to be; SERVANTS gifted by the Spirit, clothed with the armor of God and overflowing with the love of Jesus!
