Thank you for praying for Gary's cousin, Peter. From the updates I am following on Facebook posted by Peter's wife, Anita, Peter still has a way to go, but he's improving. Peter is a very active man. He assists his dad with basketball camps and is very involved with his own four sons' activities. He coaches baseball and the root of his problem surfaced after being hit in the face (cheek) with a line drive. After a little over a week and episodes of blurred vision and bleeding from his ear, a blood clot caused this stroke. How sad that his two previous trips to seek medical aid didn't recommend an MRI.
He is worried about missing baseball games this afternoon and was pretty determined he could make them when we visited on Thursday afternoon. Gary assured him that he would still be in Presby Hospital when gametime rolled around on Friday. Anita wrote this morning that there is still blood needing to be drained from his brain and the swelling needs time to recede. The PT came in this morning and Peter slowly moved from bed to chair, but got a little dizzy. Coordinatiion with the left side needs time.
Watching this yesterday as we visited the hospital gave perspective to life's everyday occurences. Roadblocks are given to slow us down and help us to realize that time is short, life is precious and we need to be about the Lord's work whenever the opportunity avails itself. Don't get tangled up in the short term view and be thankful for every healthy breath you breathe. God bless, friends and have a wonderful weekend.
