Today I went shopping.  It was the kind of shopping for which there were coupons sent in the mail and advertisements of "clearance sales".....so, off I went.  During one of my stops, the outlet of stores I frequent has now put on display an extremely large United States Flag....we're talking mammoth proportions.  As I drove towards the flag I simply couldn't take my eyes off the sight of the red, white and blue waving against the blue sky.  There's just something about the flag of the United States waving in the wind!  A word that seeps into my mainframe when I view it's magnificence is freedom! 

The lives that have been lost in wars to protect and provide freedom for all its citizens to keep that flag waving over our heads are numerous.  And the lives that continue to be given for the honor of this country to maintain our safety are reaching staggering proportions.  As I exited my car I stood looking up at that grand symbol.  Fifty states represented by its stars and the first thirteen colonies emblazoned in its stripes waving proudly for all to see that although imperfect, this country and its people maintain liberty.  We're a country other people try to emulate and others try to suffocate; but the fact remains, we are a democracy.  America was founded on a search for freedom and built on the solid foundation of belief in God. The American Flag....it continues to hold its head high as soldiers at attention and as veterans remember from days gone by.  May it forever wave until Jesus returns to take us home....let freedom ring!  God bless!
