What an awesome Sunday!  Our pastor delivered a wonderful sermon on the origination of Passover as he prepares us for the events of Holy Week.  Following Palm Sunday, our church will be presenting live passion scenes in an adjacent open field entitled, "The Way".  Excitement is beginning to build as the members volunteer to participate in this effort sponsored by our Youth Department.  The devotional thought for this week was inspired by a phrase the pastor used this morning dealing with leaving the leaven behind in Egypt.  I hope you enjoy it.  Have a great week!

It's not only a beautiful day with the sun shining brightly, it's also Friday!  Although the weather and sun reminds me daily of the changing of seasons, my heart is burdened with sadness.  A very dear friend of mine telephoned yesterday with the news that her mother has passed away.  After a long illness, the angels ushered her into God's presence and moved her into her new mansion "just over the hilltop"...(remember the old hymn?).

For those of us who live in different locations I think it brings a special sadness because we can't immediately comfort our loved ones with hugs and our mere presence.  May the Holy Spirit of God surround them with peace and beautiful memories throughout the days to come and hopefully soon we can personally hug and cry together.

I have always affectionately called Wednesday "Hump Day" since it marks the middle of the week.  My reasoning is simple.  I envision a road that travels uphill until Wednesday and then I slide down the "hump" beginning on Thursday headed into the weekend....so, my friends, happy "Hump Day"!!
It's been an overcast rainy day in Western Pennsylvania.  Although the weather people tell us we are in need of the moisture after over 40 inches of snow this winter, I sorely miss the sunshine.  Aren't you glad Jesus is the Light of the World?  That in Jesus there is no darkness?  Jesus truly is the "Son"!

My prayers are with two of my dear friends in Virginia.  One struggling with cancer and the other watching her mother struggle with a life threatening illness.  You are not alone, my friends.  Although distance may separate us, our bond in Jesus draws us close in spirit.

It's been a beautiful day in Western Pennsylvania.  Since our sunshine totals are considerably less than other major areas in the United States, I rejoice when the sun is shining and the skies are clear and blue!  I especially enjoyed being at home (I am a "throwback" to the Leave it to Beaver era) taking my time with chores and having that extra cup of coffee.  A slower day lends itself to devotions that aren't rushed and time to meditate on God's Word.  In fact, the devotional thought for this week was given wings in my time with the Lord today.  I hope everyone who reads it will be blessed.

My heartfelt prayers are still with my friends who are seeking medical assistance.  May God grant knowledge and wisdom to each medical professional that is sent their way.

March 22nd....what a special day!  My husband, Gary, and I were married 29 years ago in Rustburg, Virginia.  I was given 29 roses that happen to be the colors of the roses on my website!  Beautiful memories with hopefully lots more to come.  Ironically, our two grown children and future son-in-law will be joining us for dinner out at the Spaghetti Warehouse in Pittsburgh.  God is so very good!

It's an exciting weekend!  My daughter and future son-in-law are in town to make further preparations for their wedding in July.  It's been a great time of talking and planning as we all get more excited as the time draws near.  Except for my March Madness picks (which aren't doing so well) today is another wonderful day to be alive.  "This is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it."  Psalm 118:24 (NIV)

It's a beautiful day here in Western Pennsylvaia....you can almost smell Spring in the air.  Our daughter, Kimberly, is getting married in July and this is a day of errands and wedding plans!  As the beautiful sunshine flows through my windows I am reminded of the new birth or regeneration we are all afforded through the blood of Jesus Christ which was shed on the Cross of Calvary.

My heartfelt prayers are with my friends in Virginia that are undergoing visits with specialists.  May God grant direction and knowledge to the professionals they consult.

Well, this is my third entry!  I can't believe I have the opportunity to share online my thoughts and feelings with the internet public!  God is so good....I had an opportunity today to speak openly about Christ in the workplace.  I pray that I may have more of these "windows" to share my faith and speak words of God's goodness and faithfulness!

Well, it's been a week since the website went up....my second day of blogging and the internet server is not responding to the ministry.  So sorry if this is causing an inconvenience for those trying to read my information.  I truly hope it's up and running soon.

I hope you have enjoyed the site and the devotional thought will be changing shortly.  Also, the beautiful picture on the contact page is one that a childhood friend of mine, Sue Wright Coleman, photographed.  In fact, this arrangement of flowers graced the table for a luncheon I shared with friends on my birthday last June.  Sue and her husband, Tim, own and operate a bed & breakfast on the "avenue" in Lynchburg, Virginia.
