Welcome to The Sounding Board Teaching Ministries' online ministry!
Every year at the end of July and beginning of August my crop of Blackeyed Susans immerse...or should I say, they take over the yard! A good friend of mine who lived up the street, dug up a multitude of these little babies each year and gave them freely to anyone who desired them. I remember the year I said, "Hey, I'll take some of those!" After all they were beautiful surrounding my neighbor's home. However, she warned if they were not divided and taken out each year I'd be running over with them. Well, after about four years I must admit these flowers have taken on a life of their own! I just told my hubby this is the fall I'll be digging some of them out and placing them in areas where they can begin a town of their own! Although beautiful, they have taken advantage of their space and practically taken over the homes of several other beauties, so enough is enough. They have gotten my attention and I can appreciate my neighbor's warning. As I pondered this simply flower lesson staring me in the face after being warned it would happen, I began to relate this well learned lesson to my spiritual life. There are so many warnings in the world today regarding those beautiful apples found on the forbidden tree. As believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, we need to heed those warnings. Although our carnal natures scream we want total control over what we do, where we go, what we say and especially how we decide to live our lives, we need to heed worldly warning signs. There is and always will be a plumb line of truth we are called to follow. If we don't our lives will be overrun with a multitude of what others' think, what others' regard as proper and good, their experiences and their belief about the Lord. We don't live in a vacuum, we live surrounded by influences and like it or not, we heed what they said and do. Who is your main influence? Who is directing your path? Who is filtering ideas into your head? Is it a person or is it God? Won't you give God the same access into your decisions and life as you do those involved in your daily life? Maybe it's time to dig out the excess and plant yourself in a new place surrounded by the teachings of the Lord Jesus so you can have room to grow spiritually. May God bless each one of you and thank you for visiting the ministry website!
We hope that you will take a few minutes to check out our links and find out a bit more about us. Cookie White is the founder of this ministry and she holds a B.S. Degee in Elementary Education. In April of 2013 she received her certification as a Women's Life Coach. It has been her prayer that the information and lessons she learned with this certification will aid her in assisting the needs of women.
Cookie loves to write and her published books are shared on the website and discussed in greater detail, but her heartbeat is being able to share what God continues to teach her through her study of the Bible. She has been involved as a facilitator in numerous studies and has been a keynote speak at women's retreats.
We pray this ministry and everything that is taught and spoken will be pleasing to the Lord and bring souls to Him.
